Sam’s Spares is a Not for Profit Organisation and Registered Charity that saves unwanted IT E-waste from landfill.
It is run by Samuel Thomas, a young man with a passion for community, environment and electronics.
Sam and his volunteer team repair and refurbish computers, laptops, mobile phones, gaming systems and other electronics and gift them Free of Charge to people in need across WA.
Sam is Autistic and has Tourette Syndrome and strives to overthrow the stigmas and limitations put upon his Neurodivergent community. Proving that anyone with a passion and purpose can succeed.
To continue bridging the digital divide while growing sustainably and creating meaningful employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals, we’re evolving!
Moving forward, each laptop gifted through our program will have a sponsorship attached. This sponsorship ensures that:
Our refurbished Laptops still remain 100% FREE to the end user.
We are reducing IT E-waste, diverting it from landfill, and giving it a second life through sustainable refurbishing practices.
We can continue our mission to empower communities and individuals with the access to the technology they need to succeed in a digital world.
We will be able to provide meaningful employment and training opportunities for neurodivergent individuals, helping them thrive in an inclusive workplace.
Over the past three years, Sam and his family have poured their hearts and energy into making Sam's Spares a success, distributing thousands of devices 100% FREE across WA.
The impact has been phenomenal—but to grow and stay sustainable long-term, we need your support.
Whether you’re a corporate company, philanthropist, or community member passionate about making a difference, we’d love to partner with you!
Your sponsorship can change lives and help us expand our reach.
Let’s take Sam’s Spares to the next level—together.

We are being inundated with significantly obsolete and damaged technology as well as so many items not on our donations list from the general public.
As a reminder we are a REUSE organisation not a RECYCLER, Donations need to be CLEAN and REUSABLE
️AT THIS TIME WE ARE LIMITING GENERAL PUBLIC DONATIONS TO LAPTOPS ONLY.️
We will still accept corporate donations and school donations but please call or email to make an appointment.
Thank you everyone
WE DID IT !!!!! $1,012,213
Just 6 1/2 months into our 12 month goal, we have hit the 1 million dollars
That equates to well over 2500 pieces of IT technology being diverted out of landfill and into the hands of those who need it most.
Today, we were wondering how close we were, and just 10 mins ago, Sam did the final calculations for the week, and we hit it with room to spare.
The past 3 weeks were absolutely huge, with a surge of donations coming in and going out just as fast.
When we set the goal of one Million Dollars in FREE Refurbished IT Technology for the WA Community we new it was a HUGE goal, but the community and corporate companies all around WA got behind Sam and his vision.
To each and every person, company , school, and organisation who have donated your obsolete technology, we thank you
We have to give special thanks to our largest corporate e-waste donors, Bankwest. Without you, this simply would not have been possible.
Thank you for entrusting us with your obsolete IT and sharing in Sam’s vision that technology is accessible to everyone.
To our tireless volunteers Sam, Di, Jon, Andrew, Julie, Darcy, Shoudy, Brayden, Trevor & Angus, you give your time, not asking for anything in return. The true servants of Sam's Spares.
Sam is going to take a well-earned break this weekend, and then we will be back Monday morning to take on our next challenge.
