Sam’s Spares is a registered not-for-profit and charity creating meaningful employment for neurodivergent individuals through the refurbishment and responsible reuse of donated IT technology.
Co-founded by Samuel Thomas, an Autistic man with Tourette Syndrome, Sam’s Spares combines lived experience, ethical systems, and environmental responsibility to deliver lasting social impact.
We refurbish quality donated computers, laptops, tablets, and phones, reducing electronic waste while building real workplace skills, confidence, and long-term opportunity for neurodivergent people.
Technology is distributed through structured, accountable pathways. Small eligible charities may receive devices free of charge, while individuals and organisations can purchase refurbished devices through our G1G1 – Get One, Give One model, where every eligible purchase funds a matched, like-for-like device for someone in genuine need.
Sam’s Spares also delivers paid employment and supported pathways in IT repair, logistics, and customer service, proving that neurodivergent people thrive when given opportunity, high expectations, and the right environment.
We believe charity should be fair, dignified, and sustainable, built on systems that work for people, communities, and the planet.

At Sam's Spares, we prioritise data security by utilising Blancco Secure Data Erasure software for hard drive erasure. Blancco is an industry-leading provider of data erasure software, trusted by organisations worldwide.
Their software is certified by numerous national and international regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and standards.
This advanced software ensures that all data is completely wiped from the drives, providing a secure and reliable method of data destruction. In cases where data cannot be erased, we take extra measures by physically destroying the hard drives to ensure that no data can be recovered.
