Sam’s Spares is all about practical action, reducing e-waste, getting refurbished technology into the hands of people who need it, and creating real, meaningful work within our organisation.
Volunteers help make that happen.
If you like rolling up your sleeves, being part of a busy warehouse, and supporting work that has a real impact in the community, we’d love to have you involved.
What volunteering with us looks like
Volunteering at Sam’s Spares is hands-on and purpose-driven. Depending on what’s happening at the time, volunteer roles may include:
- sorting and processing donated devices
- packing and dispatch
- warehouse and logistics support
- helping at events or community days
Our volunteers work alongside our team, supporting the work we’re already doing and helping us keep things moving.
All current volunteer opportunities are advertised through Volunteering WA, so roles are clear, fair, and matched to our needs. If a role is available, you’ll find it there.
A quick and honest note about what we don’t offer
Because Sam’s Spares has grown, we’re often asked if people can:
- shadow our team
- observe how we operate
- learn our systems so they can replicate what we do
- ask questions about how we make money, who our e-waste buyers are, or what we strip and sell
We want to be upfront: we don’t offer this.
Our focus is on delivering our work, not teaching others how to copy our model. What we’ve built has taken years of trial and error, hard lessons, and lived experience to develop.
Our systems and business model are part of what keeps Sam’s Spares sustainable, and they’re not shared through volunteering.
- If you want to volunteer to support our work, you are very welcome.
- If you’re looking to learn how to replicate what we do or start a similar or for-profit venture, we’re not the right fit.
And that’s okay. Clarity helps everyone!
How to get involved
All current volunteer roles are listed via Volunteering WA. If there’s nothing listed, it simply means we don’t have volunteer positions available at that time.
Paid roles are advertised separately when they arise.
